Origami Pumpkin Basket
Learn how to make a fun and functional Halloween origami pumpkin basket. This origami basket can be used as a simple pumpkin or draw on a spooky Halloween face to turn it into a Jack O’Lantern.
For our little origami pumpkin box, we used 15 x 15cm (6×6 inches). The resulting basket is about 1/4 of the size of the paper. So, use larger paper for larger results!
If you’re planning to use this basket as a functional basket, use thicker paper or thin card. We’ve used paper that has a green and an orange side, you can get this same result by sticking together a green and an orange sheet of paper together.
Attaching the handle requires a dab of glue to keep it secure. This is an intermediate level origami model (on our website) so young kids may need some help opening out the basket at the end and attaching the handle.

Step 1: This is the back of our origami paper, this color will be on the inside of our origami pumpkin basket.

Step 2: This is the front of our origami paper, and this will be on the outside of the pumpkin. Start this side up.

Step 3: Start by making an origami square base.
Fold the bottom right corner of the paper diagonally up to the top left corner. -

Step 4: Unfold the previous step.

Step 5: Next, fold the bottom left point diagonally up to the top right point.

Step 7: Flip the paper over to the other side.

Step 8: Grab the bottom edge and fold it up to the top edge.

Step 10: Next, fold the right edge over to the left edge.
