Origami Butterfly
These pretty origami butterflies are designed by Akira Yoshizawa. They are easy to make and are lovely to decorate for spring and summer.
This origami butterfly is easy to intermediate, however kids will be fine making this, perhaps with a tiny bit of help.

Okay I’m proud of myself so i had to comment. So I’ve decided to make some origami for my friend out of some super pretty scrapbook paper I’ve got and boy howdy is that a choice. Luckily I’ve done a decent amount of origami so i could make some adjustments on the fly, but I feel like i just gave my hands a good workout as I forced this thick paper into increasingly small folds! I found the head looked a little strange so big, and had to do some fiddly folds to get the wings to look nice, and i couldn’t help a couple tiny tears BUT I think it still looks pretty cute!
What type of butterfly is this? Thank you 🙂
This could be used as many different types of butterfly, just draw different wing designs 🙂
I wish the steps weren’t so vague sometimes, or maybe there’d be arrows pointing to what direction to fold. “Fold the top layer back diagonally to the left.” I have no idea what this is supposed to mean.
I have edited those steps and added a line, hopefully it will make more sense. Thanks for the feedback.
It was really easy to follow the directions given and to me and so even though this was my first time it ended up looking amazing (to me at least).
Nice!!!!
i got a little confused on the last step, but i experimented a little with the wing folding and eventually got it, but other than that it turned out great thank you.
this is really nice I suggest you try to make this I did struggle to do some steps its still nice 😀
It was ease and fun I love it 🥰
I love this its so amazing imma give it to my mom who has covid and i also did the winged heart and the normal one for her!
