This origami doll, origami human, origami figure or origami person is so adorable.
It’s large rounded head makes it perfect to draw on your own little faces. Give it some eyes and mouth for a quick and easy result. We drew some pink rosy cheeks.
The origami person ends up being around one quarter of the size of paper you start off with. We recommend using standard 15 x 15 cm origami paper.
This is an intermediate level origami model, young children may need help with some of the more trickier folding, however – if you’ve folded origami before, this should be pretty easy.
The little guy can also be used as a cute floating head bookmark, if you make it in a smaller size, it could be very cute indeed.
Some ideas for how to decorate and the origami figures:
- A simple cute origami girl or little origami boy
- Add hats or hair to create characters like witches for Halloween, santa for Christmas etc.
- Fold them in half so that they “sit down”.
- For use in nativity dioramas or dolls houses.

Step 1: This is the front of our origami paper, this dark purple color will be the final result.

Step 2: This is the back of the origami paper, which is often white if you're using store bought origami paper, start this side up.

Step 3: Start by folding the bottom right corner up to the top left corner.

Step 4: Unfold the previous step.

Step 5: Fold the bottom left corner diagonally up to the top right corner.

Step 6: Unfold the previous step.

Step 7: Next, fold the lower edge up to the top edge.

Step 8: Unfold the previous step.

Step 9: Fold the right edge over to the left edge.

Step 10: And unfold the previous step.

Step 11: Fold the bottom edge up to meet the central crease.

Step 12: Unfold again.
