How To Fold An Easy Origami Fox

Learn how to fold a traditional origami fox that stands up. This simple origami fox takes about 1 minute to make so it’s great to teach kids.

This origami fox can also be turned into a cat or dog with some simple modifications to the ears and nose area. Simply draw which ever markings your animal has.

Small paper works best for this origami fox, such as 15x15cm or 6×6 inches.

Step 1:

Fold the bottom point up to the top point. Make this as neat as possible.

Fold the bottom right point up to the top point.

Fold the bottom left point up to the top point.

Flip the paper over from right to left.

Fold the right point over to the left point.

Rotate the paper a little counter-clockwise. The open points should be at the top.

Fold the left edge - all layers - on a slight diagonal to the right.

Let the flaps open back to the left. You can now see the shape of the fox.

Fold the fox's face down.

Pick up the model and play around with the front legs until the fox can stand on his own. Finally you can draw a face if you like!
